I’m pretty sure that Partner and Portal users will show up in the FROM/TO field lookups. (The latest version, to be released this week, uses Lookups instead of a Picklist for the user selection).

If Partner Portal is enabled for the org, would the From and To fields automatically start showing the choice of User or Portal User in a drop-down (this happens with all other transfer owner actions in native sfdc)? What would need to be added to enable that?

Just so I’m sure I understand, you mean use the same searching functionality, but instead of doing a transfer create noe new Event for each selected contact?

If so, this shouldn’t be a problem at all. You’d just change the doTransfer() method to create a new Task record and assign it to each contact. You’d need to remove the “To User” field and add new fields to the screen to capture the Event details to use when creating the new record. I figure it would probably take around 4-5 hours assuming that there’s nothing unexpected in creating the events.

I am working on a search and mass add event app.
Would it be difficult to adapt your script to search contacts and add and event against all selected rather than do a transfer?

At the moment, the app only transfers the Contacts. It does not transfer Open Activities or Cases, though this is something I’d like to add in the next release. Let me know if you need this functionality added quickly and I’ll try to find some time in the next few weeks.

Does this app transfer all objects associated with the contact record as well? I have over 31000 records with the same inactive user and need to change to an active user.

I thought that this was capable of running within Professional since it does not use the external API? I suggest you give your account manager or CSM a call to see if they can waive the Apex restriction when used with AppExchange packages.

Hi Mike- looks like a great tool and definitely fills a void for us- mass updating contacts as we have several people working the same account.

Quick question- when I went to add this app to our Salesforce Professional account, I got this error:

Missing feature Apex Classes Installing this package requires the following feature and its associated permissions: Apex Classes

I know Apex Classes is in Enterprise/Developer- is there anyway to install this into a Salesforce Professional environment?
